3 Indian players who could benefit from the next round of squad rotation

India have continued to manage their workload across formats in 2026, with the selectors and team management giving opportunities to a mix of established players and promising youngsters. The approach has helped several players make their mark while also allowing the team to build greater depth ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup and other major assignments.

With India's ongoing home series against West Indies followed by the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, another round of rotation could be on the cards. Several players outside the first-choice combination could benefit if the management decides to rest a few regulars or test its bench strength.

Here are three players who could be among the biggest beneficiaries of India's next round of squad rotation.

1. Naman Dhir

Naman Dhir has emerged as an interesting option for India's white-ball setup thanks to his ability to contribute in more than one department. The right-handed middle-order batter, who also bowls right-arm off-spin, represents Punjab in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

Dhir's inclusion in India's ODI squad for the ongoing West Indies series is a significant indication of his standing among the selectors. While he is yet to establish himself as a regular international, his all-round skill set makes him an attractive option whenever India decides to experiment with their combination. His ability to accelerate in the middle and contribute with the ball gives India an additional tactical option, particularly when the team wants to balance its playing XI.

With India looking to build depth ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup, another opportunity could be particularly important for Dhir. A strong showing whenever he gets a chance could help him move from being a squad option to a genuine contender for a regular place in India's white-ball setup.
