3 Indian Test batters who could get a chance in ODIs
From a stunning List A average to a wicketkeeper recalled after a long gap, these three names are worth watching.
1. Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant, a left-hand wicketkeeper-batter, last appeared in an ODI on August 7, 2024, against Sri Lanka. In 31 ODIs, he has scored 871 runs at an average of 33.50, with a top score of 125 not out. His last Test appearance was on August 15, 2026, against Sri Lanka.
Despite being a member of India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team and the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning team, Pant was not selected for the ODI squad against the West Indies, with Jurel preferred as the second wicketkeeping option. He had also been dropped ahead of the earlier home ODI series against Afghanistan. Pant will be captaining the Rest of India side in the Irani Cup against Jammu and Kashmir.
