Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has built a reputation as one of the most fearless and dynamic cricketers of his generation. However, his international career has also been repeatedly disrupted by serious injuries at crucial moments. Most recently, Pant suffered another setback just ahead of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand in Vadodara on January 11, ruling him out of the contest.

Over the years, several major injuries have sidelined the left-hander and affected his momentum at the highest level. Today, CricTracker has a look at times when unfortunate injuries, both on and off the field, ruled the stumper-batter out of cricketing action for a prolonged period of time.

One of the most challenging episodes of Pant’s life occurred on December 30, 2022, when he was involved in a horrific car accident near Roorkee in Uttarakhand. While driving his Mercedes SUV, the vehicle rammed into a divider, flipped multiple times, and eventually caught fire. Pant managed to escape the wreckage with the help of bystanders from Haryana Roadways, who risked their lives to rescue him.

The accident resulted in multiple serious injuries, forcing Pant into a long and demanding rehabilitation process. As a result, he was ruled out of international cricket for an extended period and also missed the entire IPL 2023 season while representing Delhi Capitals. This incident marked a major pause in what had been a rapidly rising career.
