Tom Moody, after hanging his boots from all forms of cricket in 2000-01, donned the coach’s hat. The former Australian cricketer was the coach of the Sri Lankan team from 2005 to 2007 and guided them to the finals of the 2007 ODI World Cup.

Moody was appointed the head coach of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2008 and led the Punjab franchise to the playoffs in the inaugural IPL season. The 57-year-old stayed at the helm of the franchise till 2010. The Adelaide-born returned to the cash-rich league in 2013 as the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Moody was at the helm of SRH till 2019 and worked wonders for the Hyderabad franchise, helping them reach the playoffs five times. In 2016, it was under his guidance, SRH went on script history by winning their maiden IPL title.  The former Australian cricketer also coached the Hyderabad franchise in the 2022 season but was not able to achieve much success as SRH finished at the eighth position.
