3. Adam Gilchrist - 36 Years 4 Months 11 Days

Adam Gilchrist is one of the finest wicketkeeper-batters to have ever played the sport. He featured in 287 ODIs and aggregated 9619 runs at a strike rate of 96.94. Coming to Tests, the former Australian cricketer played 96 games and scored 5570 runs at an average of 47.60.

Gilchrist, who made his national debut in 1996, bid adieu to international cricket in March 2008, at the age of 36. Post-retirement, he lighted the first IPL season with his jaw-dropping batting performances. Representing Deccan Chargers, the Bellingen-born scored 436 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 137.10.

When the Chargers clashed against Mumbai Indians in the 14th match of IPL 2008, Gilchrist hammered the opposition attack all across the park and notched up his first IPL century. He smashed 109* runs in 47 deliveries. Adam went on to play IPL till 2013 and amassed a total of 2069 runs in 80 matches at a strike rate of 138.39.
