The right-arm pacer Tushar Deshpande also had a forgettable season with RR. He played 10 matches, and picked up wickets sporadically but was far too expensive, conceding runs at a poor average of 37.77. His four-over spells often went for plenty, putting pressure on other bowlers and making it difficult for the team to defend totals.

With RR desperately needing a dependable death bowler, Deshpande’s inconsistent form may prompt the management to explore other pace options in the upcoming auction.
