With surfaces offering grip and turn, slower bowlers have played a decisive role in controlling the scoring rate and picking up crucial wickets at key moments. Several spinners have stepped up for their teams and delivered match-defining performances throughout the tournament. Despite that, he remains the leading spin wicket-taker of the tournament, claiming 12 wickets in seven matches at an impressive average of 15.33 and an economy rate of 7.66. Maheesh Theekshana Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana has also made a strong mark with his clever variations. He began the tournament with 3/23 against Ireland and followed it up with 2/11 versus Oman. In a major clash against Australia, he managed 1/37 and later went wicketless against Zimbabwe. In the Super Eight, Theekshana delivered key performances despite his team facing defeats. He took 2/21 against England and 3/30 versus New Zealand, both impressive spells under pressure. Although he went wicketless against Pakistan, he has accumulated 11 wickets in seven matches at an average of 18.54 and an economy of 7.41. His ability to bowl in the powerplay and middle overs has made him a dependable asset. His control in middle overs and knack for breaking partnerships make him crucial heading into the semis. He produced a match-winning 4/27 against Sri Lanka and followed it with 3/19 versus England, though the latter came in a losing cause. Across five innings, Ravindra has claimed nine wickets at a remarkable average of 9.77 and an economy rate of 6.76. His ability to exploit turning tracks has been a major advantage for the Kiwis. He began with 2/21 against Nepal, went wicketless against West Indies, and took 2/34 versus Scotland. After another quiet outing against Italy, Dawson stepped up in the Super Eight. He claimed 2/27 against Sri Lanka, 3/24 versus Pakistan, and 1/32 against New Zealand. In seven matches, Dawson has taken 10 wickets at an average of 19 and an economy rate of 7.30. His ability to maintain control while picking up timely wickets has strengthened England’s spin department.
