England leg-spinner Adil Rashid experienced a mixed start but gradually found rhythm. He struggled initially, conceding 42 runs against Nepal, but bounced back with 2/16 against West Indies. He then claimed 3/36 against Scotland and 1/43 against Italy.

In the Super Eight stage, Rashid’s experience came to the fore. He picked up 2/13 against Sri Lanka, 1/31 versus Pakistan, and 2/28 against New Zealand in the final Super Eight fixture. Overall, he has taken 11 wickets in seven matches at an average of 19 and an economy rate of 7.83. His control in middle overs and knack for breaking partnerships make him crucial heading into the semis.
