India emerged victorious in Asia Cup 2025 by staying unbeaten from start to finish. The Men in Blue won the continental tournament by winning the summit clash against Pakistan by five wickets to win their ninth-ever title in the history of the continental competition. Their level in general was miles ahead of the other participants in this year's tournament. There were several key performances from the Suryakumar Yadav-led unit during the assignment in the UAE. Many players contributed together to make it a fully unified outing at the end. Plenty of records and milestones were also set along the way. Let's look at the top 5 records broken by India in Asia Cup 2025 5. He was given a go in India's dead rubber Group A clash against Oman. The left-arm pacer was on 99 T20I wickets prior to the commencement of the clash in Abu Dhabi. There were a lot of eyes on him and how he would bowl on his international comeback after many months. Arshdeep was assigned duties with the new ball. He conceded 15 runs in his first couple of overs inside the powerplay. Having conceded 10 in his third in the 17th over of the run-chase, the Guna-born was brought back on to bowl the final over of the match. Vinayak Shukla swiped at a shortish delivery, but could only make the ball travel as far as Rinku Singh at deep mid-wicket. 4. He ended up as the leading wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with 36 scalps in 18 matches (both ODI and T20I versions of the tournament). Kuldeep featured in all seven matches for the Men in Blue. He did go wicketless in any of the games. Kuldeep secured two three and as many four-wicket hauls. The Uttar Pradesh cricketer's most impactful outing was the summit clash of the tournament. Kuldeep's three-wicket fourth over meant Pakistan had been completely dented. Earlier in the tournament, he had secured the Player of the Match award for his 3/18 during the league phase clash against the arch-rivals. In the 2025 instalment, Kuldeep conceded runs at a miserly 6.27. 3. With 314 runs in seven matches, Abhishek deservedly secured the Player of the Tournament award. He struck three consecutive half-centuries during the tournament, making him the only player after Rohit Sharma (in Asia Cup 2023) to attain such a feat. However, what stood out was Abhishek's blistering approach with the willow. He struck at 200 as far his tournament strike rate. While it would not be quite fair to compare this strike rate to all Asia Cup editions due to the most of them being played as ODIs, Abhishek's strike rate was the most amongst leading run-getters from any edition, even the 2016 and 2022 instalments. 2. While India won the maiden T20I instalment in 2016 under the leadership of former Indian legend MS Dhoni, the Lankans won the 2022 tournament against Pakistan by 23 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With India's 2025 glory in the United Arab Emirates, they became the first team to win two T20I Asia Cup titles. The team looked miles ahead of any of the other participants under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav. There is no particular clarity as to which mode the next instalment of the Asia Cup will be held. However, for now, India have one more T20I Asia Cup than Sri Lanka. 1. They capped off a thoroughly dominant tournament with a five-wicket win against Pakistan in the final on Sunday, September 28. This was the second time they won the T20I Asia Cup without losing a single game in the tournament. As far as unbeaten runs in Men's T20I tournaments are concerned, Asia Cup 2025 marked the fourth time they had not registered a single loss throughout a particular tournament; the three others being Asia Cup 2016, Asian Games 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024. This is also the most by an Asian team when it comes to Men's T20I tournaments.
