3. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer has been a run-bank for the Men in Blue in the limited-overs circuit. He has featured in 35 ODIs and notched up 1379 runs at a strike rate of 98.85. Talking about the shortest format, he has scored 1043 runs in 49 matches at a strike rate of 135.98.

The 27-year-old has been in a rich vein of form in the 50-overs format of late. When India faced South Africa for a three-match ODI series, he smashed 191 runs at a strike rate of 111.69. Also, in the first match of the ongoing 50-overs leg against New Zealand, Iyer played a sensational knock of 80 runs off 76 deliveries to help India post a competitive total of 306 on the board.

The elegant batter has made the most of the chances he has got so far and he will look to do the same at the upcoming Bangladesh tour. With the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson breathing down Iyer’s neck his good run with the bat against the Bangla Tigers might put him higher in the pecking order for the middle-order role in India’s full-strength ODI team.
