Pacer Lizaad Williams was part of the South Africa World Cup 2023 squad and got to play one match, against Bangladesh in which he took 2/56. He has appeared in 2 Tests, 2 ODIs, and 9 T20Is for Proteas and picked a total of 19 wickets. He also played for Joburg Super Kings in 3 matches and picked 5 wickets with a best of 4/36 in SA20 2023. Given that Williams, 29, is seen as a T20 specialist bodes well for CSK, as they can go for him in the IPL 2024 auction as a backup for their overseas pacers.
