Apart from the notable names, several talented unknown faces will also be seeking an opportunity in IPL 2024 which is arguably the best T20 league in the world. All ten franchises have until November 26 to announce their retentions ahead of the mini-auction next month. Furthermore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also increased the purse amount for the upcoming season by INR 5 crore.

Hence, the franchises will have INR 100 crore to splurge in the bidding event to have their favourite players on board as compared to the INR 95 crore in the previous season. However, the purse of every team will be updated on the auction day after considering the value of the players they’ve released ahead of the auction and their unutilized purse from the 2023 edition.

Every franchise would hope that most of the players from their teams will be in contention for the IPL Orange Cap and IPL Purple Cap and further help them win the coveted trophy. Franchises will be eyeing several superstars of the cricketing world who’ve risen to fame in recent times and will take the tournament by storm with their stupendous performances.

Players such as Rachin Ravindra, Dunith Wellalage and Dilshan Madushanka are likely to trigger a bidding war among the buyers owing to their recent remarkable performances. Star Australian seamer Mitchell Starc will also mark his return in the T20 extravaganza after an eight-year hiatus and will be one of the most sought-after players. Hence, the upcoming auction will prove to be an entertaining affair for fans who will be rooting for their favourite franchises to buy the services of their favourite cricketers.
