IPL 2026: Five most destructive batters ranked

The IPL has always been the hotbed of destructive batters, with multiple names, Indian and overseas, becoming stars by hitting the ball out of the park. Over the last two years the IPL has seen the trend of destructive batting in all phases of the innings, with blistering starts, middle overs domination, and demolition in the back end. Let us look at top five mist destructive batters who can light up the IPL: 5) Hardik Pandya - Mumbai Indians Hardik Pandya hits out, Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2025, Qualifier 2, Ahmedabad, June 1, 2025 Hardik Pandya burst onto the scene in 2015 as a dangerous six-hitter, capable of changing games on his own. After controversially replacing Rohit Sharma as captain of the Mumbai Indians in 2024, Hardik has the added chip on his shoulder to live up to the local hero’s legacy. Over the years he has evolved his game to improve his range hitting, and in 2026 he is one of the most feared batters across the worldwide T20 circuit. A whopping strike rate of 198.97 in all T20s in 2025, including a scintillating 151 off just 51 balls for the San Francisco Unicorns in the MLC, makes him a solid threat. Allen scored the fastest century in T20 World Cup history in the semi-final against South Africa, off just 33 balls, and finished the tournament with 298 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 200. Kolkata Knight Riders would be hoping for him to be at his best if they are to undo the wrongs of the previous season. 3) Nicholas Pooran - Lucknow Super Giants Nicholas-Pooran. But that is no reason to count him out. An adept hitter of both pace and spin, Pooran was the core of the LSG batting lineup last year, taking on the spinners in the middle overs and helping the Lucknow team to put commanding totals. Pooran scored 524 runs for Lucknow last season, striking at a scintillating 196.25. He will be expected to be at the top of his game for Rishabh Pant’s men. His impact can never be counted out as a hitter, and he single-handedly possesses the ability to change games from different entry points. 2) Abhishek Sharma - Sunrisers Hyderabad Abhishek-Sharma. He has struck at 198.92 in the last two seasons of the IPL, forming a destructive partnership with Travis Head, as Sunrisers revolutionised the IPL with their hard-hitting approach. Abhishek will play with a point to prove after his dismal showing in the T20 World Cup and he has the ability to be one of the most destructive batters in the tournament. His style of play makes it easy for him to dictate terms from the start and set a platform for the others to come. Be it high pace or quality spin, Abhishek has the shots to take all kinds of bowling to the cleaners. 1) Vaibhav Suryavanshi - Rajasthan Royals Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He left his mark in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals last year, with 252 runs in seven innings, striking at a blistering 206.55. He also became the youngest centurion in the history of the IPL, bringing one up off just 35 balls, helping Rajasthan chase down 210 in under 16 overs against a strong Gujarat Titans side. Vaibhav’s form and potential was the reason Rajasthan had the leeway to let go of Sanju Samson to the Chennai Super Kings, and his style of batting means Rajasthan can take that risk. He was a commanding presence at the top despite his young age and is expected to continue the same presence into this season.
