2. Mohammed Shami’s 4/11 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2023
In the 2023 IPL contest between Titans and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, India speedster Mohammed Shami bowled an exceptional spell for the former. Bowling first after losing the toss, Gujarat got an unprecedented bowling performance from the veteran.
On the first delivery of the game, Shami got Phil Salt caught at short cover at the hands of David Miller. In his next over, he dismissed Rilee Rossouw and pushed DC into a perilous state. Bowling his third over, Shami outclassed Manish Pandey and Priyam Garg.
Delhi could amass only 130 runs in 20 overs and Shami recorded his best bowling figures (4/11) for Gujarat. Despite the pacer’s disciplined bowling, GT couldn’t win the match as DC contained the hosts to 125. At the end of the game, Shami was chosen Player of the Match for his scintillating performance.
