5. Rashid Khan’s 3/37 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2023
In the clash between GT and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2023 IPL, fans witnessed some sensational action. The match went to the final ball due to Rinku Singh’s five maximums against Yash Dayal in the final over of the contest but before the KKR stalwart’s majestic batting show, it was GT’s spin wizard Rashid Khan, who did wonders with the ball.
Bowling the last over of his spell, Rashid got rid of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur on consecutive deliveries and registered his first IPL hat-trick. The Afghan player was leading GT as regular captain Hardik Pandya was unavailable in the match due to some health issues. In the end, Gujarat couldn’t save a humongous total of 204 runs but Rashid’s bowling performance became the talk of the town.
