Mitchell Owen came out to bat at a pivotal moment in the series opener of the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Australia were in trouble, having lost four wickets by the ninth over. His first couple of maximums came off Andre Russell before he clobbered Akeal Hosein for three maximums on the leg-side in one over.

With that, the flow of the game shifted towards Australia. The middle-order batter was dismissed immediately after smashing his sixth six. However, he had fulfilled his job by then. His 40-ball 80-run stand was vital in Australia's three-wicket victory. Despite conceding 14 runs in the only over he bowled, he picked up the big wicket of Shai Hope (55 off 39) in the first innings.
