Pacer Renuka Singh was fetched at a massive sum of INR 1.5 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the 2023 WPL auction. After spending a hefty amount on her, Challengers expected her to deliver match-winning performances for the team with the ball.

Renuka, who was the highest wicket-taker for India in the Women’s T20 World Cup, became an unplugged leakage for batters to pile up runs against in the mega T20 competition. Providing her services to the franchise, the right-arm bowler took only one wicket in six matches at a below-average economy of 9.54.

Throughout the tournament, her failure to be among the wickets built pressure on other RCB bowlers as well. Renuka would now look to forget her previous performance and move forward to make a comeback in international cricket as well as in the next season of the league.
