The in-form England (ENG) side will look to seal the T20I series against the West Indies (WI) on Sunday, June 8, with a game to spare. After winning the first T20I in Chester-le-Street by 21 runs, the Three Lions will be high on confidence heading into the second T20I at the County Ground in Bristol.

The Caribbean side has failed to win a game so far on their tour of the United Kingdom. After being whitewashed in the three-match ODI series, the West Indies were expected to bounce back strongly in the shortest format, especially with veterans like Rovman Powell, Andre Russell, and Jason Holder returning to the setup.

However, the bowling department was taken to the cleaners by Jos Buttler, who scored a majestic 96 off 59 balls in the first T20I. Jamie Smith also played a crucial cameo of 38 runs at the top of the order. Romario Shepherd was the pick of the bowlers for the West Indies, picking up two wickets and conceding 33 runs in his four-over spell.

In reply, left-arm orthodox bowler Liam Dawson caused the West Indies batters all sorts of problems on a pitch that was gripping for the spinners. The 35-year-old finished with stunning figures of 4/20 in his four overs. Evin Lewis was the only batter who looked settled at the crease as he scored a quickfire 39 off 23 balls. The tourists were eventually restricted to 167/9, chasing a 189-run target.

Probable Top Performers

Probable Best Batter: Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler has carried his sensational Indian Premier League (IPL) form into the series. The experienced wicketkeeper-batter looked at ease against the West Indies bowlers, smashing six fours and four sixes en route to his 59-ball 96. England fans would be hoping that he continues his golden run of form on Sunday.

Probable Best Bowler: Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid (Source: Twitter)

Adil Rashid got a tad overshadowed by the brilliance of Dawson in the first T20I. However, he bowled remarkably well, finishing with figures of 1/22 in his four overs. The leg-spinner knows how to adapt to different conditions and his guile should come in handy against the destructive West Indies batters, who have traditionally had their shortcomings against quality tweakers.
