After a rain-curtailed T20I series, the focus now shifts to the One-Day Internationals as New Zealand and India will lock horns in the first game at the Eden Park in Auckland on Friday, November 25. Both teams will now be battling it out to draw first blood in the three-match series.

The Kiwis will be pumped up by the return of their talismanic captain Kane Williamson who had to miss the third T20I due to a medical appointment and now, the hosts would be looking to settle the scores in the 50-overs format.

At the same time, it also needs to be noted that India suffered a 0-3 whitewash in the ODI series during their last visit to New Zealand in early 2020 and that is what makes the hosts favourites on paper.

The Indian team on the other hand will be led by veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan and all the players would be expected to bring their A-game in this series with an eye on the next year’s ODI World Cup at home.

The Men in Blue had registered a 2-1 ODI series win in England earlier this year and they would be hoping to carry the same momentum into this series.
