In the first T20I, Bangladesh posted 191/7 in their 20 overs on the back of Mohammad Parvez Hossain's 54-ball 100. UAE went down fighting, losing by 27 runs after captain Muhammad Waseem top-scored with a 39-ball 54. The home side learned from their mistakes and came out all guns blazing in the second T20I.
Tanzid Hasan scored a belligerent half-century, while Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy, and Jaker Ali made useful contributions. The tourists posted 205/5 in their 20 overs. UAE's highest successful run-chase before this game was 173 and they had to create history to square the series.
Waseem led from the front, scoring a 42-ball 82, while Muhammad Zohaib Khan also contributed with a 34-ball 38. UAE kept losing wickets, but their batters hit boundaries every time Bangladesh were trying to wrestle the momentum in their favour.
29 runs were needed off the last two overs with four wickets in hand. Shoriful picked up a wicket to start the penultimate over but conceded 17 runs off the next five deliveries. Tanzim Hasan Sakib struggled under pressure as he tried to defend 12 runs in the last over. He bowled a wide ball, a no ball for height, and a full toss that went for six. The host reached home with two wickets and one ball to spare.
