Former Australia cricketer Mark Waugh has sharply criticized the Decision Review System (DRS) technology after a third-umpire call which went in the favour of Rohit Sharma during the first innings of the ongoing second ODI between Australia and India. Rohit top-scored for India with 73 off 97 in Adelaide as the tourists ended up with 264/9 in 50 overs after batting first.

Waugh remarked how disgruntled Josh Hazlewood was after the LBW decision was overturned by the third umpire. Contrary to the Snickometer which conveyed there was an inside edge on the ball before it thudded into the pads, Waugh shared that the front-on replays gave a clear indication that the ball had clearly missed making any contact with the bat.

"You can see Hazlewood there going, 'I didn't hear anything.' I can't see how he's hit that. I reckon he was late on it. I can't see an inside edge on that, to be honest with you," stated Mark Waugh while speaking to Fox Cricket.

At the end of this particular over, India were 17/0 in six overs. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli departed in the subsequent over off the bowling of Xavier Bartlett. Bartlett struck twice in his second over in what was his first match of the series.

The Men in Blue ended up on 264/9 at the end of 50 overs. Rohit top-scored with 73 off 97. He combined along with Shreyas Iyer (61 off 77) to put on a 136-ball 118-run stand for the third wicket after the fall of Shubman Gill (9 off 9) and Kohli (0 off 3).

Adam Zampa (4/60 in 10 overs) and Xavier Bartlett (3/39 in 10 overs) picked up four and three wickets, respectively. Josh Hazlewood's 10-over quota resulted in only 29 runs being conceded. A total of eight bowlers were used by Mitchell Marsh throughout the innings.
