Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is in the spotlight amid the ongoing Big Bash League 2023-24 in Australia. This time, not for his explosive batting or game-changing all-round skills, but for his wit and humor.

During a recent clash against Sydney Thunder, the Melbourne Stars skipper found himself mic'd up, treating viewers to a hilarious dose of in-field commentary. In a banter-filled exchange with Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf, Maxwell wittily remarked that fast bowlers do not listen to what is being conveyed and always want to bowl a bouncer.

Turning to cricketing legend Brett Lee in the commentary box for backup, Maxwell questioned the notorious behavior of fast bowlers. Lee, true to his cricketing spirit, defended the breed and said that there is nothing wrong with that attitude. Maxwell, in his signature playful style, pondered the purpose of team meetings if players turn a deaf ear and stick to their game plan.

The Big Bash League, in a generous move, shared a compilation video encapsulating Maxwell's on-field banter, revealing his hilarious takes on fielding efforts and scrutinizing bowlers' lengths. Addressing a fielding mishap of his own, Maxwell chuckled, saying that he would have caught that with his eyes closed a couple of years or maybe four months ago. But his fitness took a hit post the ODI World Cup.

Maxwell's on-field commentary was more than just cricketing banter and became a hit with a wide audience, even those not hardcore cricket enthusiasts. Talking about Maxwell's team's performance in the ongoing Big Bash League, it has not been good as they find themselves in the last position of the table with three losses in three matches. Even though it is still early in the tournament, the poor start has already diminished their chances of qualifying for the next round.
