Suryakumar Yadav left the legendary former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar and former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar stunned as he pulled off some brilliant catches and showcased his heroics on the field during the third T20I between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 1, 2023.

The Men In Blue convincingly sealed the three-match T20I series 2-1, by recording their biggest-ever T20I victory, by margin of runs, as they clinched a 168-run victory over the Black Caps. The visitors were left stunned as the Men in Blue put up a dominant show across all departments.

Commentators seeing Suryakumar Yadav's brilliance

"Now is that action-replay? Fairytale stuff this. Good ball to begin with and another sensational catch!" Sanjay Manjrekar, who was one of the commentators in the panel, was the first to react to the 32-year-old's on-field brilliance.

Notably, the comment came after Suryakumar Yadav took a blinder to dismiss Glenn Phillips, which was a complete carbon-copy of the catch he had taken to dismiss Finn Allen in the first over. Coincidentally, on both the occassions, the bowler was Hardik Pandya and thus it looked like a complete action-replay, as also mentioned by Sanjay Manjrekar.

To further add-on to Manjrekar's praise of Suryakumar, yesteryear legend Sunil Gavaskar, who was also the co-commentator, couldn't help but lavish praises on Suryakumar's extreme athleticism and on-field brilliance. He admitted that Glenn Phillips' catch did look like a replica of the dismissal of Finn Allen.

"Top-class catching. The length and the line around the off-stump. This is a pitch where there is a little extra carry for the proper bowlers and that is what Hardik Pandya is doing. He is hitting the ball into the pitch and getting that extra bounce and again the timing of the jump. Unbelievable again. It looks like an action-replay of that first catch, which got rid of Finn Allen. This a big wicket", the 73-year-old added.
