The do-or-die game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has already seen a great first half of the game being played. Put into bat first, RCB scored 218 runs on the board and will have to win by at least 18 runs to make it to the playoffs. The defending champions on the other hand just have to win the game to make it through.

Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis began well with the bat as the pair scored 78 runs for the first wicket. Kohli was out for 47 while Faf Du Plessis scored 54 for the hosts. Rajat Patidar with 41 off 23 balls and Cameron Green 38* off 17 balls saw RCB post the huge score on the board.

Chennai Super Kings: 50 runs off 5.3 overs

Glenn Maxwell got a wicket off the very first ball and dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad for a duck. Daryl Mitchell struggled to get going before he was out dismissed by Yash Dayal with Virat Kohli taking a neat catch. Ajinkya Rahane came to bat and displayed good intent right from the start to keep the scoreboard ticking once again.

Powerplay: Overs 0.1 to 6 (Mandatory –58/2)

The fall of two early wickets didn’t deter Rachin Ravindra as he began attacking the RCB bowlers. The introduction of Ajinkya Rahane at number 4 was something that CSK needed as the veteran batter hit two fours and a huge six before the powerplay in the massive run-chase.

Chennai Super Kings: First Strategic time-out (64/1 from 7 overs)

Swapnil Singh was called upon to bowl after the powerplay and the veteran gave away just 6 runs to bring RCB back in control. The pitch has been helping spinners a lot as seen with the way Glenn Maxwell bowled.

Chennai Super Kings: 100 runs from 11.2 overs

After a stand of 66 runs for the third wicket, Chennai Super Kings lost the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane to Lockie Ferguson for 33. Rachin Ravindra's thought kept going as he found the boundaries at regular intervals.
