IPL 2026 Player Trades: Full Updated List of All Trades, Releases & Team Changes
The trading window, which initially opened right after the 2025 season concluded, will remain active until a week before the 2026 auction.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction is fast approaching and is scheduled to take place on December 16, 2025, in Abu Dhabi. With just about a month to go, franchises were given a deadline of November 15, 3 PM IST, to submit their lists of retained and released players for the upcoming season, which is tentatively set to run from March 15 to May 31.
With the mini-auction on one side and retention decisions on the other, teams are actively working to shape their squads ahead of the bidding event. Franchises are engaging in trades, either through all-cash deals or player swaps, to strengthen their line-ups and secure key names before the auction dynamics come into play.
So far, Mumbai Indians (MI) have been among the busiest teams in the trade window. They have acquired Shardul Thakur from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sherfane Rutherford from Gujarat Titans (GT) in all-cash deals. One of the most talked-about and high-profile trades, however, involved Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson being exchanged for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. Additionally, Arjun Tendulkar has been traded from MI to LSG at his base price.
