During the IPL 2026 match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans on May 29 in Mullanpur, RR captain Riyan Parag grabbed attention after a reaction in the dugout went viral on social media.

RR posted a strong total of 214/6 in 20 overs, thanks largely to opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who played a brilliant knock of 96 runs off 47 balls. However, he missed out on a century after being dismissed by Kagiso Rabada.

After Sooryavanshi’s dismissal, cameras captured Parag appearing to scold the young batter in the dugout for throwing away his wicket before reaching a hundred. The moment quickly went viral online, with fans sharing mixed reactions across social media platforms.

Speaking about the match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the toss and opted to bat first. Left-handed batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred with a sensational 96 off 47 balls at a strike rate of 204.26, smashing eight fours and seven sixes. He received solid support from Ravindra Jadeja, who remained unbeaten on 45*. In the final over, Donovan Ferreira provided a late flourish with a quickfire 38* off just 11 deliveries. For Gujarat Titans, Kagiso Rabada picked up 2/35, while Jason Holder returned with figures of 2/27.

The winner of the clash will advance to the final of the Indian Premier League 2026 and face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium. GT had finished second in the league stage standings but lost to RCB in Qualifier 1. Meanwhile, RR ended the league phase in fourth place and booked their spot in Qualifier 2 after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator.
