KKR Squad 2024 Player List: Complete Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Squad and Players List for IPL 2024

After failing to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2022 and 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders decided to shake things up and appointed former skipper Gautam Gambhir as the new mentor of the side ahead of 2024 edition. Upon his arrival, the two-time champions released some significant names, such as Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee and Shakib Al Hasan among a few others ahead of the auctions.

Coming to the auction, KKR had the third-largest purse and they were not at all shy to spend it as the team focused heavily on building a strong squad which can once again challenge for the coveted trophy. They remained quiet for the majority part of the first three sets but upon the arrival of Mitchell Starc in the auction, the franchise broke the bank and signed the Australia international for a record-breaking fee of INR 24.75 crore. He had a fallout with the KKR management previously but they have recently settled out and hence, KKR went all out for the cricketer. Other than Starc, they have also bolstered their pace unit by including Chetan Sakariya, 

The franchise also showed a lot of interest in signing Rovman Powell but lost to Rajasthan Royals in the bidding war. Later in the day, the franchise was interested in signing England all-rounder Chris Waokes but due to budget restrictions, they backed out. The same happened with Spencer Johnson as well.

The franchise was in dire need of signing an Indian wicketkeeper-batter and signed managed to sign KS Bharat at his base price of INR 50 lakh. However, after signing Starc, the franchise was left with very little money, from which they bought the likes of Shrefane Rutherford, Manish Pandey and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
