The Lucknow Regional Transport Office has issued a notice to Akash Deep in relation to his newly-purchased SUV. Deep had bought the car after returning to India from the recent England tour, during which he enjoyed plenty of success.

The notice issued on Monday, August 11 directed that the car to not be used on road because of incomplete registration formalities. The car also lacks the necessary high-security registration plate (HSRP) and the third registration mark (TRM). The notice has additionally instructed Deep to appear before authorities within 72 hours.

“The RTO discovered that the temporary registration and registration certificate process remained incomplete on the Vahan portal," the report said about the vehicle that was purchased by Akash Deep on August 7, as quoted by the Times of India.

The insurance of the vehicle is said to be obtained on August 8, a day after its purchase. He also received a fancy registration number (UP32 QW 0041) to be placed on August 9.

“The notice warns that driving the vehicle in its current state constitutes an offence under Section 192 of the MVA and empowers authorities to seize or detain the vehicle under Section 207," added the notice which the authorities sent.

Deep will have to appear himself or send an authorised representative to visit the RTO office in Lucknow within the aforementioned timeframe. Necessary documents which include respective proofs of registration, insurance and tax payment records will have to be submitted as well.

The Lucknow RTO has also sent a show-cause notice to the automobile dealership based in Chinhat, a locality in Uttar Pradesh. The concerned authorities are understood to have suspended the car dealer.

“Legal action under Sections 192 and 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act will be initiated against the defaulting dealer," the statement read.
