The star-studded Royal Challengers Bengaluru would've hoped for a better start to their campaign than their current situation winning just a single match in their first four games. Their only victory came against the Punjab Kings at home, pulling through a nail-biting run-chase.

Ahead of the Royal Derby between RR and RCB, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar weighed in on what RCB should try and do to turn their campaign around. Despite him rightfully mentioning the toss not being in control of RCB, he was of the opinion that given any opportunity on winning the toss, they should opt to bowl first and chase targets rather than set them, owing to their batting be a strong point for them. In that way, Gavaskar felt, would RCB have a better chance of winning matches.

“Of course, the toss is not in your control. But at all possible opportunities, they should chase targets as batting is their strong point. I think that will give them a better chance at winning matches,” said Gavaskar, as quoted by Hindustan Times, during a cricket talk show, Midwicket Stories.

Gavaskar's observations emphasised RCB's challenges with their bowling department, who have conceded a massive 719 runs in the 75.3 overs they've bowled so far.

Kohli - The one man show for RCB so far

Up until the four games played by RCB so far, Kohli has looked in sublime touch, with his scores reading 21, 77, 83, and 22 ahead of the game against RR. Barring him, the likes of Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Rajat Patidar have lacked cohesion as a unit, with them not even featuring in the top 20 batters as far as the leading run-getters are concerned.
