Pakistani opener Sahibzada Farhan had a moment of utter disappointment after falling for a four-ball duck during the India versus Pakistan clash in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, February 15, at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The Indians added salt to Farhan's wound, as they bundled Pakistan out for just 114 runs while defending 176.

Earlier in the innings, a fan at the stadium was seen making a video with Farhan at the boundary ropes, asking the cricketer to make a 32-hour-long film after smashing Jasprit Bumrah for sixes in the run chase, as he did during the 2025 Asia Cup. However, the disastrous departure of Farhan in the very first over meant that all the post-match plans were put to rest. The video has now gone viral on social media.

Notably, the Men in Green opted to bowl first after winning the toss in Colombo for the mouthwatering contest, where their Super Eights qualification was on offer. They started brilliantly by sending Abhishek Sharma packing for a duck in the first over off an off-spinning delivery from captain Salman Ali Agha. But what followed next wasn't something that the Pakistanis had planned.

Ishan Kishan, the other opener, went all guns blazing and continued his merry form to smash 77 off just 40 deliveries in a knock that was laced with 10 fours and three towering maximums. Suryakumar Yadav also added a vital 32 under pressure, with late blows from Shivam Dube (27 off 17), as India posted 175-6 in the first innings.

Pakistan's reply was quite an underwhelming one, with Farhan holing out to Rinku Singh on the fourth ball of the innings off Hardik Pandya. In the very next over, Bumrah gave India a double delight, bagging the wickets of Saim Ayub and the Pakistani skipper. The 2009 champions did attempt a fightback with Babar Azam and Usman Khan, but it wasn't meant to be, as Axar Patel took the wickets of both in successive overs.
