Former India batter Sadagoppan Ramesh has blasted Pakistan for their decision to boycott the India clash in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The two arch-rivals were scheduled to clash on February 15 in Sri Lanka.
The Government of Pakistan stated that although the team will participate in the upcoming marquee event, it will not take part in the game against India. The Tamil Nadu batter questioned Pakistan’sdecision, sarcastically, saying that they must be taking the revenge of historically losing to India in the World Cups by not playing this time.

The PCB must have said we won't play the match itself as a tactic to avoid losing to India. The truth is Pakistan are scared of facing India," he said on his YouTube channel.
"You are getting an opportunity to face India in a marquee event like the World Cup. This was a chance for them to come out fired up to avenge their previous defeats. But they are taking revenge by not playing itself," he further stated.
It has been a one-sided rivalry between the arch rivals, especially when it comes to the World Cups. India leads the tally with 15 wins in 16 matches across multi-national events, with Pakistan winning just one match.

The Chennai-born further warned ICC about a potential U-turn by the PCB if they manage to lose against USA or Netherlands. According to him, if the above-mentioned scenario occurs, the neighbours will definitely consider taking their decision back.
"If this is Pakistan's decision, the ICC should take it in writing and ensure they lose the two points immediately. Because if they lose to the USA or the Netherlands, they'll quickly change their decision and play the match against India. So the ICC should close the game for such a U-turn. It'll be the ultimate drama if such a thing transpires,” he concluded.
Pakistan and India are placed in Group A, along with USA, Netherlands, and Namibia. The Men in Blue will take on the USA on February 7, in their opening encounter.
