'This man is just so consistent' - Ajay Jadeja lauds Shubman Gill's terrific performances in IPL 2025

Shubman Gill has taken the Gujarat Titans (GT) to new heights this season with seven wins in ten matches. He has performed in most of the matches and played some risk-free, high value shots as well. Given his performances in IPL 2025, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja lauded Gill and compared him to Virat Kohli.

The 25-year-old batter has honed his cover drives and mastered the art of playing offside deliveries quite beautifully. GT are now in the second position on the points table and just a match away from qualifying for the playoffs. 

Jadeja mentioned that Gill has maintained a certain level of consistency in cricket, which has helped him a lot. Moreover, in terms of skills, he is 'outstanding'. 

"It’s business as usual with Shubman Gill because this man is just so consistent. We have a Virat Kohli in our country, but Gill is no less. If you look at the consistency with which he scores, it’s similar in style. He doesn’t take unnecessary risks; he waits for the bowler to make a mistake. Unless required, you rarely see him throw his wicket away. Skill-wise, Gill is outstanding. He peppered the offside beautifully today with those cover drives," said Ajay Jadeja on JioStar.

I think the right word for GT was ‘energy’: Jadeja

Ajay Jadeja opened up about the GT team and used the word 'energy' for their current performance in the IPL 2025. They have been brilliant on the field, making the dives and taking the catches whenever anything comes up.

"I think the right word for GT was ‘energy’. That catch from Rashid Khan and all those diving efforts were fabulous. He ran a lot, slid in and still managed to pull it off. That effort shows. What we saw today was a Gujarat Titans side probably stung by their last loss against the Rajasthan Royals. One thing they were sure of today was giving it their best, and the energy was top-level," added Jadeja.
