Rajasthan Royals' (RR) batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi took the cricket fraternity by storm in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after being roped in at the mega auction last year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for INR 1.10 crore.

The 14-year-old scored a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans (GT) to light up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. While this innings was the highlight of his campaign, the southpaw played a few good knocks in the other games as well. The Bihar batter finished with 252 runs from seven matches at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.56. Interestingly, the youngster slammed more sixes (24) than fours (18) in the tournament.

However, instead of basking in the glory of his stellar maiden IPL campaign, Suryavanshi has set his sights on helping the Royals reach the finals next season. The Sanju Samson-led side finished at No. 9 in IPL 2025, winning four and losing 10 matches.

“The key learning is that whatever I did this season, I have to do it better next time, not just better, but twice as good, so that my team makes it to the finals next year. I will focus on how can I contribute as much as possible towards that goal,” Suryavanshi said in a video shared on the IPL website.

“Playing in the IPL is like a dream for everyone, and this was my first season. I gained a lot of positives from this first season. Next season, I’ll try to do even more for the team. I also got to learn a lot, so I’ll work on the areas where I fell short this year and try to perform even better next year for the team,” the Bihar-based cricketer concluded.
