New Zealand’s Mark Chapman produced an extraordinary moment of athletic brilliance at deep mid-wicket, pulling off a sensational relay catch to end Alishan Sharafu’s superb knock in Match 11 of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, a moment that instantly took cricket fanatics at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, into a frenzy.

The dismissal came in the 14.2 over, when Mitchell Santner induced a powerful slog from Sharafu towards the deep. Chapman, stationed right on the edge of the boundary, timed his leap to perfection and plucked the ball mid-air before showing remarkable presence of mind to throw it back inside the field. With his momentum taking him towards the cushions, Chapman smartly released the ball in time, where Daryl Mitchell completed the catch safely, sealing a brilliant tag-team effort in the deep.
