[Watch] ENG vs IND 2025: Mohammed Siraj pays heartfelt tribute to Diogo Jota in Lord's Test
Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota passed away in a horrific car accident earlier this month.
Mohammed Siraj played a key role for India on Day 2 of the third Test at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Friday, July 11. The experienced seamer gave good support to Jasprit Bumrah, who bagged his first five-for at the Home of Cricket.
Siraj, who went wicketless on the opening day, picked up the wickets of Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse on Day 2. After dismissing Smith, who was caught by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel after scoring a 56-ball 51, Siraj turned around and made the No. 20 gesture with his fingers. This was a heartfelt tribute from the speedster to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, who passed away on July 3 during a horrific car accident in Spain. His brother, Andre Silva, also lost his life in the accident as their Lamborghini veered off the road and caught fire. Jota sported the No. 20 jersey during his time at Liverpool
Since the news of their demise, many footballers have paid tribute to them during matches. Siraj, who often brings out Cristiano Ronaldo's famous "Siu" celebration after picking up wickets, decided to pay homage to Jota and his brother on Friday.

India bowled out England for 387 in 112.3 overs. Apart from Bumrah and Siraj, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravindra Jadeja were also among the wickets. While the seam-bowling all-rounder dismissed the England openers, the veteran spin-bowling all-rounder got rid of Ollie Pope.
