Everything seems to be going Ishan Kishan's way since his comeback into the Indian team. The Jharkhand batter turned India’s practice match against South Africa into a highlight reel moment with a six that summed up the kind of luck he is enjoying at the moment in T20 cricket.

The incident occurred in the fifth over when South African speedster Anrich Nortje dug in a sharp bumper from around the wicket. Kishan, momentarily caught in two minds, attempted a pull that looked anything but convincing at first glance.

The delivery climbed awkwardly and Kishan seemingly appeared to bail out of the shot,. However, he manage to make some as the flew off his top edge and landed over the rope, leaving the bowler shaking his head and the batter flashing a smile as he walked across to his batting partner Abhishek Sharma.

While the six looked fortunate, Kishan’s overall innings was anything but. The left-hander played with intent and freedom, racing to 53 off just 20 balls, providing India with valuable momentum in the warm-up fixture ahead of the T20 World Cup. He eventually retired out, having done exactly what was expected of him in a practice game against some high-quality pace bowling.

India put on mammoth 240

It was a clinical show with the bat by the Indian batters as they put on a mammoth 240 against the Proteas, as nearly all other Indian batters scored at a flashy strike-rate. Abhishek Sharma contributed 24 off 18 balls before retiring out.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav, too, carried his tremendous form as he scored a brisk 30 runs off 16 balls, whereas Hardik Pandya, Tilka Varma, Axar Patel, and Rinku Singh played handy cameos. Sanju Samson’s absence, though, was the real highlight of India’s innings.
