WATCH: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dances down the track for big sixes in nets ahead of England T20I opener
Sooryavanshi finished IPL 2026 with 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.30, and remains uncapped heading into India's five-match T20I series against England.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi looked in ominous touch during India's final net session in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday, July 1, dancing down the pitch and launching the ball over the ropes repeatedly, hours before India's opening T20I of the five-match series against England.
The clip, shared on social media, arrives as the debate around the 15-year-old's senior debut refuses to die down. Sooryavanshi remains part of India's 15-man squad for the series but is yet to be capped, having watched both matches of the 2-0 T20I series defeat to Ireland from the sidelines last week.
'Dancing down the track and launching them big,' Star Sports wrote on X, sharing the clip from the nets in Chester-le-Street.

Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi make his senior India debut against England?
India's top order struggled through the Ireland series, with Sanju Samson dismissed for golden ducks in both matches and Ishan Kishan managing just 12 in the second T20I, fuelling fresh calls for Sooryavanshi to be handed his cap. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said before the Ireland series that the timing of the teenager's debut rested with head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shreyas Iyer, and the left-hander remains uncapped heading into the England tour.
Sooryavanshi hype? I'm not seeing anything: Iyer
Sooryavanshi arrives on the back of a record-breaking IPL 2026 campaign with Rajasthan Royals, in which he scored 776 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 237.30 to win the Orange Cap. He was also Player of the Tournament at the 2026 ICC Under-19 World Cup and struck 94 off 29 balls for India A in the Sri Lanka tri-series final earlier this month. A debut for India would make him the youngest male cricketer to represent the country, surpassing a record Sachin Tendulkar has held for more than three decades.
India's five-match T20I series against England begins tonight at 10 PM IST at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street, with further games to follow at Old Trafford, Trent Bridge, Bristol and the Rose Bowl in Southampton through Saturday, July 11.
