Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been unstoppable in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, having won eight of their nine matches and ruling the points table. A 121-run partnership between Sanju Samson and keeper-batter Dhruv Jurel played a pivotal role in their latest win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Saturday (April 27).

Royals' top four have been in excellent form so far this season. With captain Samson showing incredible consistency at No.3, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal or Riyan Parag lead the way. However, in the last match, apart from the skipper, the other three failed to shine and their scoreboard read 78/3 in 8.4 overs while chasing a huge target of 197.

With things looking bleak in the RR camp, Jurel, who had been out of form this season till the 44th match, played a crucial knock to get his team over the line. This time Samson led the charge with a superb 71* off 33 balls while Jurel contributed 52* runs from 32 balls. The duo put on RR's highest fourth-wicket partnership to seal a thumping seven-wicket win.

What is Dhruv Jurel's IPL salary and how has he fared this season so far?

Inaugural edition champions acquired the services of Dhruv Jurel for INR 20 lakh in the 2022 mega-auction. The Uttar Pradesh cricketer did not get a single match in his maiden IPL season. However, he donned the pink jersey for the first time as an Impact Player in the 2023 edition and became a regular in the RR playing XI.

To date, the 23-year-old has played 22 matches in the IPL and scored 254 runs, with the recent unbeaten 52 against LSG being his highest T20 score. Jurel caught the eye of the cricket fraternity with his remarkable innings in the Test series against England earlier in 2024. The young lad brought back his trademark salute celebration after notching up a brilliant half-century in Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.

He didn't have a great outing until the match against LSG. Apart from a few cameos, he failed to make any significant contribution with the bat, scoring 50 runs in eight matches. Now with Jurel also finding his form, RR's already formidable batting unit has been bolstered.
