What is South Africa’s record at Arun Jaitley Stadium in T20Is?
South Africa have qualified for the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup 2026.
South Africa became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026, courtesy of their unbeaten run in the group stage as well as the Super Eights thus far. They will play a dead rubber contest against Zimbabwe in their final Super Eights encounter on March 1 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Notably, the Proteas played majority of their games at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, and the only fixture they played elsewhere was in New Delhi itself. It is worth mentioning that the South Africans have never lost a single match at the iconic venue, and their current form gives them a significant edge to pip out the Chevrons on Sunday as well.

The history says that the Proteas have played three T20I matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, formerly known as the Feroze Shah Kotla ground. Their first-ever T20I at the venue produced a victorious outing against Sri Lanka during the 2016 edition of the marquee T20 tournament. Skipper Faf du Plessis had led his troops brilliantly in the match to bundle the opposition out for 120, following which Hashim Amla made 56 not-out to see his team home.
The second game, on the other hand, came during their tour of India in 2022 for a multi-format series. India batted first in that game, with Ishan Kishan (76) top-scoring for the hosts. Chasing a daunting target of 212, the Proteas never looked uncomfortable and were guided to comfortable wins, courtesy of Rassie van der Dussen (75* off 46) and David Miller's (64* off 31) knocks.
Their most recent fixture at this venue came during the league stage match of the ongoing twenty-team tournament against the United Arab Emirates. The Aiden Markram-led side once again completed a dominant win to keep their unbeaten record at the venue intact. Now, they will look to better that number with their upcoming match against Zimbabwe on Sunday, March 1.
