Veteran South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis praised batting megastar Virat Kohli and addressed him as a ‘caring’ person and a ‘family guy.’ At the same time, Faf also mentioned that one will only get to know about the good side of Virat when they get an opportunity to play with him.

Du Plessis was roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2022 and was named the captain two weeks before the commencement of the tournament. He succeeded Kohli who had stepped down from the position after the 2021 season.

Virat Kohli is a superhuman: Faf du Plessis

"When you play along with Virat Kohli - you will know other side of Virat, how caring he is and a family guy - has lots of value as a person," said Faf du Plessis while speaking on the Grade Cricketer podcast.

"Virat Kohli is one of the most competitive guy in world cricket. He is a superhuman”, the Proteas cricketer added.

Both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have been retained by RCB for the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League. The duo will be on a mission to end the Bengaluru-based franchise’s title drought in the next edition of the marquee tournament.

Even though RCB did succeed in breaking the Eliminator jinx last year, they went down to the eventual finalists Rajasthan Royals in a one-sided contest in the second Qualifier. Meanwhile, Virat will be eager to prove a point in IPL 2023. He finished last season with 341 runs to his name from 16 matches averaging 22.73 and a strike rate of nearly 116.

Nonetheless, Kohli has looked in splendid touch with the bat in the shortest format in the last few months. He finished as the second-highest run-getter in Asia Cup 2022 having amassed 276 runs from five matches including a century. The batting icon showcased an even better performance in the T20 World Cup down under as he scored 296 runs in six matches including four half-centuries to finish as the competition’s highest run-getter.
