The Bangla Tigers will be starting their campaign in the eight-team event. They have produced some promising results in the shortest format in recent months. Bangladesh has defeated Sri Lanka and Pakistan by 2-1 margins. Recently, they won two T20Is in Sylhet against the Netherlands.
Bangladesh has a nice blend of youth of experience in their lineup. Skipper Litton Das, who has rediscovered his form, will look to lead the team from the front. He won the Player of the Series award against the Netherlands earlier this month.

Hong Kong will have fond memories of their only T20I meeting with Bangladesh. In the 2014 T20 World Cup, Hong Kong beat Bangladesh by two wickets, chasing down a 109-run target with two wickets and as many balls to spare in Chattogram.

The first match in the 2025 Asia Cup was played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan recovered from a slow start to amass 188/6 in their 20 overs against Hong Kong. The latter could only make 94/9 in their 20-over innings. The teams will look to do well in the powerplay but also like to keep wickets in hand.
