In Match no. 25 of IPL 2024, the Wankhede Stadium witnessed a run fest as Mumbai Indians chased down 197 with 27 balls to spare spiralling RCB to a fourth consecutive loss of the season.

RCB were asked to bat first, and were reduced to 23/2 in the fourth over. However, Rajat Patidar (50 off 26) and skipper Faf du Plessis (61 off 40) put up 78 runs in a little less than 8 overs, but it was the final push by Dinesh Karthik (53* off 23) that took RCB to 196/8. And RCB might have had more if not for Player of the Match Jasprit Bumrah's brilliant 5/21 in four overs.

In reply, MI openers, especially Ishan Kishan (69 off 34) just went very hard at RCB's bowlers. He and Rohit Sharma (38 off 24) put up 101 in just a little under nine overs. Whatever hope was left with RCB was then shattered by Suryakumar Yadav (52 off 19). Hardik Pandya (21* off 6) then applied the finishing touches.
