Punjab Kings made a stronger push for their spot in the playoffs of IPL 2025 with a tight win over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur in Match No. 59.

PBKS won the toss and chose to bat first, but were immediately wrecked by Tushar Deshpande (2 for 37) in the powerplay. Nehal Wadhera (70 off 37) then stitched an important partnership with PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer. Shashank Singh (59* off 30) and Azmatullah Omarzai (21* off 9) continued their good work with an aggressive push at the death to take PBKS to a record total.

RR made an amazing start as Yashasvi Jaiswal (50 off 25) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (40 off 15) went hammer and tongs and put up 76 in under five overs. RR were in pole position to take the chase home, but PBKS' Impact Player Harpreet Brar (3 for 22) made all the difference in the middle overs. Dhruv Jurel (53 off 31) tried his best to take it towards the end, but the hosts eventually lost by 10 runs.
