The Mumbai Indians (MI) will return to action in the Indian Premier League 2026 as they face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 69 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Sunday, May 24.

MI are currently enduring a tough campaign, having lost nine of their thirteen matches so far. The Hardik Pandya-led side has struggled to find rhythm, particularly in closing out key moments in games. Despite boasting a power-packed batting lineup, inconsistency with both bat and ball has hurt their chances, leaving them completely out of the playoff race. They are coming into this clash on the back of a defeat against the Kolkata Knight Riders and will be eager to bounce back to salvage pride in front of their home crowd.

On the other hand, RR find themselves in a high-pressure position. Led by Riyan Parag, they have won seven out of thirteen matches and sit comfortably in fourth place on the points table. The team has clicked brilliantly as a unit, fueled by the explosive form of teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at the top of the order. With playoff hopes hanging in the balance, RR will be desperate to secure a victory and lock in their official spot in the top four.
