David Warner finally reunited with his family after nearly a month of hurried travel and hard quarantine. Owing to the travel ban in Australia, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener had to fly to Maldives alongside his fellow Aussie players after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 got postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis. While the Australian contingent landed in Sydney a couple of weeks ago, they had to undergo another mandatory quarantine before returning home.

After a long wait, Warner met his family on Monday, and the scenes were nothing but emotional. The cricketer’s wife Candice took to her Instagram story and uploaded photos and videos of the reunion. In one of the clips, David can be seen embracing his youngest daughter, Isla, while the other two kids talk to him. Candice also posted a photo of Warner posing with Isla.

David Warner meets his wife and daughters after long

The pics and videos got viral in no time as fans were overwhelmed seeing Warner meeting his wife and kids after long. Notably, Candice, in a recent interview, revealed that her daughters were worried when the southpaw was playing IPL in the coronavirus-ravaged India. Nevertheless, the 34-year-old has returned home safely, and his family can take a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Warner didn’t have a memorable IPL 2021 campaign. Returning from a groin injury, the opener wasn’t at his fluent best in the first few games. He scored 193 runs in six games at a strike rate of just over 110. With SRH losing one game after another, the team management decided to sack Warner as captain and Kane Williamson got the leadership role. The Australian dasher was even dropped from the playing XI.

At the time of season suspension, the Orange Army was last in the team standings with just one win in seven games. Hence, they need to win all their remaining league-stage games to make a place in the playoffs without any hassle. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the remaining matches will take place in UAE. However, there are doubts over the participation of many overseas players due to the busy international calendar.
