A few last minute changes to the schedule of the England’s tour of Sri Lanka has forced the English limited overs skipper Eoin Morgan to postpone his wedding. England are set to tour Sri Lanka for a Test series and an ODI series later this year. Earlier, the plans suggested that the English team will travel to Colombo on September 30, 2018. And after their arrival in the country, they will have a tour game following which the Test series would commence.

After the conclusion of the Test series, the two sides are expected to lock horns in the ODI series. While Eoin Morgan is not a face in the English Test side, his position in the limited overs is of paramount importance. Morgan is the captain of the ODI and the T20I English side and has been leading exceedingly well. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), as per the reports in the British tabloid The Daily Mail, has made some changes in the fixtures for the tour.

Hence, Morgan’s personal plans prior to the tour has gone for a toss. Morgan was due to marry his Australian fiancee Tara Ridgway in October this year. But if the ODI series is preponed to the same month, this will become a concern for the English skipper. Hence, to avoid any further confusions, Eoin Morgan has put his wedding plans on hold.

Eyeing the 2019 World Cup

The 31-year old has made some serious contributions to the national side. And he is determined to take England to the ultimate glory in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019, which, interestingly, England will be hosting. After a dismal show in the ICC World Cup 2015, it was Morgan who set the new standards for the English team.

The ‘Morgan Model’, as it is popularly known in the cricket circles, worked wonders for the team as the players started to display an aggressive and fearless brand of cricket. The most recent example of their success was the limited overs assignment in Australia. Team England beat Australia in their own den in the ODI series. Currently, the English team is in Australia playing in the Trans-Tasman T20I tri-series.
