Sudhir’s greatest fan moment came when he lifted the 2011 World Cup Trophy for India on a special request made his god himself, Sachin Tendulkar. On the eve of India’s win, Sachin asked the security officials to protocol Sudhir to India’s dressing room where the jubilant Indian cricketers were celebrating their historic world cup win. Sachin advised Zaheer Khan, the leading wicket-taker of the 10th edition of the world cup, to present the cup to Sudhir. Sudhir Kumar Gautam, bursting into tears, head held high, lifted the glory cup and screamed ‘India!!!!!’.
