New Zealand (NZ) will be hosting Sri Lanka (SL) in the first T20I match at Auckland's Eden Park on Sunday, April 2. The hosts won the ODI series by 2-0 after dominating Tests with two wins. The Balck Caps' win in ODIs was a big statement as the key players are missing the white-ball series to participate in the Indian Premier League 2023.

In the last match, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, and Henry Shipley took three wickets each to bowl out Sri Lanka on just 157 runs in 41.3 overs. Young opener Pathum Nissanka top-scored with 57 off 64, and skipper Dasun Shanaka scored 31 off 35 for Sri Lanka. The Kiwis struggled in the early stages with four early wickets. But Will Young and returning batter Henry Nicholls remained unbeaten to ease New Zealand to a six-wicket win in just 32.5 overs. Sri Lanka have lost four of their last five T20I against New Zealand and might struggle in the upcoming despite having a comparatively strong squad.

Pathum Nissanka SL | BAT

The young Sri Lankan opener top-scored with 57 off 64 in the last match and will be looking to carry the momentum in T20Is as well. He has scored two fifties in his last three ODIs and will be looking for a good start in the T20I series as well.

C

Kusal Mendis SL | WK

9

Dasun Shanaka SL | ALL

8.5

Matt Henry NZ | BOWL

The in-form speedster will be leading the pace attack in Tim Southee's absence. He was sensational in the ODIs and Tests with three for 14 in the last game and will be looking for a similar impact in T20Is.

6.5

Henry Shipley NZ | ALL

The 26-year-old right-arm pacer will likely be making his T20I debut in the upcoming game after shining in the ODIs. Shipley took eight wickets from two ODIs and costs only 6.5 credits on the Dream11 Team.

7

Will Young NZ | BAT
