In the 55th match of the IPL 2026, Punjab Kings will take on Delhi Capitals. The Punjab Kings suffered a 33-run defeat against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match. Batting first, Hyderabad set a good target of 236 runs, but Punjab managed to score only 202. However, Cooper Connolly played an outstanding inning and scored 107 runs, while Marcus Stoinis played a fine innings of 28. Despite this, they failed to achieve the target. Moreover, Punjab’s bowling attack also struggled significantly, with only Yadvendra Chahal making an impact by taking a wicket for 32 runs, while the rest of the bowlers didn't bowl economically.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals also endured a disappointing performance in their previous match, suffering an 8-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders. Batting first, Delhi managed to post 142 runs on the board, but Kolkata’s dominant batting performance helped them chase the target comfortably in just 14.2 overs.

While batting first, Delhi failed to get the desired start from their top order. However, Pathum Nissanka contributed a valuable 50 runs, while Ashutosh Sharma chipped in with 39. With the ball, Delhi bowlers struggled to make an impact, although Axar Patel picked up one wicket.
