Rangpur Riders (RAN) will lock horns with Sylhet Strikers (SYL) in the 2nd Qualifier match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2023 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on February 14. Riders finished third in the points table after the end of the league stage with eight wins from 12 matches. Strikers, on the other hand, were the table toppers till the end of the group stage, having won nine out of their 12 games.

Riders played their last match against Fortune Barishal, where Barishal were put to bat first, and they put up a strong total of 170 for the loss of three wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz played a brilliant knock of 69 to contribute to the team's success. In return, the Riders started slow and lost early wickets, but Shamim Hossain got hold of one end and played one of the most important innings of this season. The Riders won the match by four wickets with three balls to spare.

Strikers squared off against Comilla Victorians in their last game, where they were put to bat first. The Strikers had a horrible start and lost multiple wickets in the powerplay. Only four batters got into double figures, so Strikers could muster only 125 before getting bowled out. Although Victorians lost a few wickets, they chased down the target pretty easily with 20 balls to spare and hence won the match by four wickets.
