Sir Garfield Sobers- widely regarded as the greatest ever cricketer to have played this beautiful game- may have retired almost three decades ago but he still remains one of the most revered cricketers of all time. Whenever there is a discussion on who is the greatest all-rounder in the history of the game, Sober’s name is almost always at the top-most echelon.

Sobers could do anything on a cricket field. He was truly an exception to the saying–  ‘Jack of all trades, Master of None’. Sobers could bowl- medium-pace and spin; he could keep wickets; was a gun fielder and of-course a champion batsman, who held the record for the highest individual score in Test cricket [365 vs Pakistan, Jamaica 1958] for almost 36 years until his fellow compatriot Brian Charles Lara broke it against England in 1994.

And, it seems that Sobers- Jack of all trades- moniker extends off the field too. We all knew he can bat, bowl, field on a cricket field but it seems that the 83-year-old can dance as well. A video is going viral on Twitter where the legendary all-rounder can be seen dancing to a remix version of ‘Jiya Ho Jiya Kuchh Bol Do” — originally sung by Mohammed Rafi in the movie ‘Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai’.

The Indian wedding was taking place in Barbados and the video shows a Sir Gary shaking his leg to the tune of Indian songs with a lot of people.

Sobers have had deep connections with India during his playing days

The West Indian legend dated former model Anju Mahendru. The relationship began when Sobers toured India with the West Indian team in 1966. Mahendru was just 17 at the time and according to the reports in the newspapers during that period, Mahendru had even called-off her engagement with superstar Rajesh Khanna.

Unfortunately, long-distance and career issues led to the couple calling off their relationship. It was also rumoured at the time that Sobers had written a letter to Mahendru, seeking her permission to marry his Australian girlfriend, with whom he split in 1984.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Gary Sobers shaking a leg to an Indian song:
